This isn't about learning another sequence of exercises to copy.
It's about developing a simple way to explore movement, make purposeful choices and discover what changes.
FEEL
Notice what the body is telling you before (and after) using the Wedge.
FOCUS
Decide what you want to influence and use the most relevant exercise that brings about change in the body.
FLOW
Choose, adapt and progress the movement and make it your own, keeping your style and aligning with the relevant theme of your class for your clients.
Our goal is to take you from “Which exercise should I do next?” to confidently and creatively integrating the Optineck Balance Wedge® into the Pilates you already teach.
You'll learn to use the Wedge with purpose, choosing and adapting movement for the person or group in front of you.
The result is fresh, thoughtful and varied classes that keep your clients engaged, helping them to recognise meaningful changes in their bodies and giving them another reason to keep coming back to you.
Gain the confidence to understand why you're choosing an exercise, what you want it to change and what to try next meaning your Wedge becomes more than a prop, it becomes part of the way you think, create and teach.
This education will help you use The Optineck Balance Wedge® to explore movement through the whole body and create sessions your clients can feel the difference from.
FEEL THE DIFFERENCE - read what other physios and Pilates instructors have to say about this programme:
“Loved the variation of exercises - all with immediate effects that felt great in my body...especially my shoulders.”
Sarah, Pilates Instructor, Devon.
“The effectiveness of these exercises is truly remarkable.”
Rebecca, Physio, Sussex.
“I will be using the Wedge in my classes a whole lot more from now.”
Zoe, Pilates instructor, Surrey.

Jo Strutt is a former professional dancer, Pilates & Garuda® teacher, movement educator and co-owner of Bridgeham® Clinic.
Her own experiences of injury, including a disc injury, ACL ski injury, recovery from C- sections, natural birth and frozen shoulder, sparked a lifelong curiosity about how the body recovers, adapts and returns to confident movement.
For over 30 years, Jo has learned from Body Control Pilates, Polestar Pilates, Eric Franklin, Linda Hartley and Garuda®'s James D'Silva. She has mentored and presented to developing Pilates teachers and worked alongside osteopaths and physiotherapists to create Bridgeham's Broken to Brilliant® movement pathways.
Jo is a published contributor to Pilates Applications for Health Conditions - Volume 2, commissioned by internationally respected Pilates educators Madeline Black and Elizabeth Larkam. (Watch their video included to learn more.)
Beyond the Fundamentals brings all of this experience together, helping you discover more of what's possible with the Wedge and to use it with purpose, creativity and confidence in the Pilates you already teach.

Absolutely.
This programme has been designed to take you beyond the fundamentals - exploring ways to use the Wedge throughout your Pilates-inspired movement repertoire rather than limiting it to foundation exercises.
This is a self-paced programme designed with busy practitioners in mind who want to add in one skill at a time and know they can dip in and out and build on skills that can be implemented straight away.
All our videos are short & concise, the average length is 3 1/2 mins so you can work through at your own pace.
(If you are like me and want to binge watch the whole lot then set aside 67 mins in total!)
Yes. You will explore ways to use the Wedge in 1:1 sessions and classes, but the aim isn't to give you another fixed sequence to copy.
You'll learn principles that help you experiment, adapt and make purposeful movement choices for the individual or group class in front of you. You will get more from the Wedge you already have, understand why you're using it, and confidently integrate it into the Pilates you already teach.
